DAY 2: Tuesday, November 14. MELBOURNE

We started our day at the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV).  Our focus was the Ian Potter Center with 20 rooms dedicated to Australian art.  Considered the largest collection in the country, there was plenty of Aboriginal, colonial and modern art to look at.

For lunch we stopped off at Gimlet.  Gimlet was ranked as one of top 100 restaurants in the world in 2022 and a reservation is usually needed.  We didn't have one... However, they advertise they accept walk-ins.  That worked for us and we had a great meal!

After lunch we went on a street art walking tour.  The tour included a visit to a studio that supports street artists and offers workshops to people interested in learning how to make their own street art.

After the walk, we went to an absinthe bar for a drink.  Then we went for dinner at the Big
Esso.  The restaurant specializes in food influenced by indigenous preparations and flavors.  The menu often includes crocodile and kangaroo.
